Getting sick of Drinking From The Sun?
Yeah, me too, I mean shit bangs, don’t get me wrong - but with Triple J smashing the fuck out of a select few songs over the last year it’s getting a bit old.
Like I love my Grandad too, but I can only hear him jabber on about the same repetitive shit a certain amount times before I get in to his wine and just tune the fuck out.
‘Yeah grandad, I know, goddam Nazi’s; yes, burying your beloved possesions in the back yard was the best thing to do at that point in time’
God bless his cotton socks.
Anyway, this right here is a refreshing official remix EP of Drinking From The Sun; Strictly Suffa behind the boards on the whole project; released to celebrate the kick off of the ‘Speaking In Tongues’ nation wide tour.
Shit’s free so get the fuck on it - Click here right now
The album artwork and track/guestlist for this monster of a release dropped over the weekend, but I was too incapasitated to do a write up on it; so here it is, the belated, half assed write up on an album that deserves so much more effort from me.
Maundz’s popularity has skyrocketed in the year since his debut album ‘Mr. Nobody’ - but I’m still not sure how to classify dude.
He could still easily fit in to the ‘Underground’ catagory, but every cunt seems to know who the fuck he is, and loves what he’s doing; so thanks, thanks for fucking me up and not knowing what to write right here.
On the real though, Maundz is easily one of, if not the hardest working MC in Melbourne, possibly even Australia at the moment - and it shows.
Classical debut album with replay quality - he’s got it on lock
Live shows that are like going on safari; wild - Uh, yep, tick that too.
Guest spots on some of the dopest albums in Oz over the last few - Yezzir
Gully as fuck abusive Facebook posts - You know it; possibly my favorite thing about the man

“I’m young, I’m hungry, I want respect. I’ve worked extremely hard over the last ten years to try and carve out my own sound, and stand out from the rest. Coz I’m Maundz and nobody else is.” - Maundz
I recently caught up with one half of the Vegas Aces and had a chat about all things hip hop.
Check it out here
For those that have been paying attention to the fine print and production credits in amongst the lairy and outrageous hip hop album art over the last year or so, you would have the Duse’s name burnt in to the back of your mind permanently; some-what like a dope welders flash.
Duse has been a busy little bee, not only with the aforementioned, but also working on a hoard of Tape Death shit, and apparently working on this little number in secret; the cheeky little bastard!
‘the EP is called 88 1/2 (‘cos that’s the BPM of all the tracks on it), & it features some skilled guest featuring from Class A, B.V.A, Dunn D, Rigby & Wiz Kid.’
The self-produced EP boasts nine tracks, full of neck-breaking drums, ear-piercing horns, and to be honest… Some really fucking weird samples that seem to work really well on the track; I don’t know how he does it.
As with most of the shit I’ve been posting lately, the EP is completely free for download and hard copies will be pressed and slung if enough interest is shown, so get all up on and about this shit.
Peep one of my favourite cuts off the album, then go and download that shit on my good word motherfuckers.
